White Daion Savage with Original Case on Ebay.com.au

Unlike the more common Performer/Rockson MDL models, these don't pop up very often in Australia, these being the Daion Savage.

This one is white in colour with a brushed metallic finish pick guard, and whilst it has a few marks here and there (like most well played instruments get over time) it looks to be in good condition, and still being in the original case adds to the coolness factor.

Vintage 1982 Daion Savage electric guitar in used condition - the usual dings & scrapes associated with an instrument of this age - non original phase switch, 3 way instead of 2 way but operates as 2 way. I believe these guitars were made in japan.

Case has a latch missing but is fully functional other than that.

Unusual jack entry from back of the guitar, works well with looping it over the strap.

Creamy sounding humbucker pickups, in/out phase switch, 2 vol & 2 tone.

Extremely  hard to find and very collectable .

Very Cool Surf Green Daion Performer on Ebay.com.au and Gumtree.com.au

Right here is almost the blueprint for my perfect "Strat" style Daion.

This Daion Performer is in a very cool Surf/Seafoam Green (or there abouts) with a maple neck, bullet truss rod, single string tree, has beautifully aged pickup covers and control knobs, and the normal chromed style bridge.

With a starting price of AU$2.00 or a But It Now of AU$90.00 this will be a steal either way. If it wasn't half a country away I'd be bidding for this one myself!

"Glam Rock" Orange "Strat" Style Daion Relisted on Ebay.com.au

This one has come up before, but I figured why not give it another run as it's up for auction again.

"Glam Rock" might be a little over the top, but is certainly not a Daion for the shy or faint hearted! It's a "Strat" style  model but not identified as either a Performer or Rockson MDL on the headstock, although the seller seems to protest that it isn't a "Korean Performer" model. The neck is a maple unit with the traditional skunk stripe on the rear.

It's painted in a rather bright orangy-red metallic colour on both the body and headstock, and fitted with a white pickguard and volume and tone knobs. The selector pickup knob looks more like a Tele style one in black.

Pickups are stated as being the original Daion ones in a "Single Single Humbucker" pickup combination. The bridge is a vintage Floyd Rose Tremolo unit, and there is also some form of strin guide on the headstock.

Black "Strat" Style Daion - Found On A Council Pickup!

I recently got this e-mail from a reader of the blog!

"Hi there,
I stumbled on your blog Daion Guitars Down Under and I was wondering if you may be able to help me identify an electric Daion guitar I recently found on council pick up here in Sydney.

It is in need of refurbishment and I can't seem to find a serial number or info on the model.

Thank you"

For those not familiar with the term "Council Pickup", in most city and suburban areas of Australia, at various time during the year the local council advertises that they will be doing a pickup, whereby people place items the do not want on the footpaths outside their houses, and the council sends around a garbage truck to pick it all up.

Hard to imagine why someone would throw out an obviously "not junk" guitar, but luckily an eagle eyed person spotted it and rescued it from sure destruction.

It looks to me to be one of the later Korean made Daion's, as it has in common with those models no other identification bar the Daion name on the headstock like Performer or Rockson MDL, has the painted headstock, and I dare say could be a ply and not solid body.

I could be wrong on the Korean thing so if anyone out there has any clues or info that would be great.

In any case, it looks to be not a bad score for nothing, and with a bit of spit and polish I'm sure it would come up and play a treat.

Black Vintage "Strat" Style Daion Performer on Ebay.com.au

Up on Ebay.com.au is this very nice looking Daion Performer. This is very much your tradition vintage "Strat" style Performer with the Kluson style split tuners and single pressed string tree on the headstock, lovely rosewood fingerboard and beautifully tinted neck, then back to the black painted body with black pick guard, control knobs and pickup selector, and pressed bridge saddles.

With a starting price of AU$260.00 this looks like a fine buy to me.
