To me, there is some validity to a guitars quality, if it is being sold in a specialist guitar shop, especially if it isn't at a rock bottom price.
I came across another Daion Performer some months ago, up for sale at the The Rock In, a specialist music shop in Western Australia. http://www.therockinn.com/
This particular Performer identified as a 1985 model was a beautiful light green colour with a maple neck, single round string tree and 8-screw pickguard, supposedly a one owner instrument, and if anywhere near the asking price of $699 was achieved, goes to show that these Daion's are not a budget action bottom dwelling instrument.
